- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Olive oil spray
- Dipping sauces: ketchup, low-fat ranch dressing, BBQ sauce, honey mustard, marinara (optional)
Instructions
- Toast panko breadcrumbs with olive oil and salt until golden brown.
- Cut chicken into ¾-inch cubes, season with salt and pepper.
- Set up dredging station with flour, egg mixture, and seasoned panko.
- Dredge chicken cubes in flour, dip in egg, then coat with panko.
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F and lightly spray basket with olive oil.
- Arrange chicken in air fryer and spray tops lightly with olive oil.
- Cook for 5 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden and crispy.
Notes
Press the panko firmly onto the chicken for a better crust.
Monitor cooking time as it may vary by air fryer model.
