Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 lbs Ground Beef (preferably 80/20 for optimal juiciness)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 large Egg
  • 3/4 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 3/4 cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese (high-quality)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Italian Parsley (diced)
  • 2432 ounces Marinara Sauce
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese (or more to taste)
  • 4 Slices French Bread or Sub Rolls
  • Butter for toasting

Instructions

  • Combine ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, panko, parsley, egg, and Parmesan in a bowl.
  • Roll the mixture into 1-2 inch meatballs.
  • Brown the meatballs in olive oil for 5-7 minutes.
  • Simmer browned meatballs in marinara sauce for 20 minutes.
  • Toast the sub rolls with butter in the oven.
  • Assemble by layering meatballs and cheese in the rolls, then broil until cheese melts.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for enhanced flavor.
Browning the meatballs adds depth and seals in juices.
Adjust cheese quantity to suit your taste preferences.
