Ingredients

  • 1 pound (about 450g) Ziti pasta
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups Marinara sauce
  • 1 pound (450g) Ground beef
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1/4 cup Fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Boil the ziti pasta until al dente, then drain.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté minced garlic.
  • Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  • Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a bowl, combine cooked ziti, ricotta, and half of the mozzarella.
  • Layer beef mixture and ziti mixture in a baking dish.
  • Top with remaining mozzarella and bake covered for 25-30 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly.

Notes

Cook pasta al dente as it will continue to cook in the oven.
Experiment with different cheeses for added flavor.
Incorporate red pepper flakes for extra heat if desired.
