This mango sorbet is a refreshing treat perfect for summer days. Made with ripe mangoes and lime juice, it’s dairy-free, gluten-free, and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (454g) ripe mango flesh (about 1 ½ lbs or 680g fresh mango, peeled and diced)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lime or lemon juice (or to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • â…“ cup sugar (or to taste)
  • A few pinches of salt

Instructions

  • Peel and dice fresh mangoes into 1 ½ cups of puree.
  • Blend mango puree with lime juice, water, sugar, and salt until smooth.
  • Strain mixture through a fine mesh strainer.
  • Refrigerate mixture for about 2 hours.
  • Churn in an ice cream maker for about 20 minutes.
  • Transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours.
  • Let sit at room temperature a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use perfectly ripe mangoes for best flavor.
Adjust sweetness and acidity to taste before freezing.
No ice cream maker? Stir in a shallow dish every 30 minutes until frozen.
