- 2 tablespoons orange zest
- 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- ½ teaspoon orange extract
- oil-based orange food coloring (optional)
- ½ cup powdered sugar, divided
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and tools.
- Combine unsalted butter and orange zest in a saucepan, bring to boil while stirring.
- Gradually add heavy whipping cream, continue cooking for 1-2 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Strain the mixture over chopped white chocolate, press down the zest.
- Add orange extract and food coloring, whisk until mostly melted.
- Seal and chill mixture in the freezer for 1 hour.
- Shape the mixture into balls and coat in powdered sugar.
- Store in a container and freeze for another hour until set.
Notes
Use high-quality white chocolate for best flavor.
Keep hands slightly damp while rolling the truffles to prevent sticking.
