- 1½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of water and cook spaghetti until al dente; reserve ½ cup pasta water.
- In a skillet, combine olive oil and butter over medium heat until melted.
- Add chopped onion and cook for 3-5 minutes, then add minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
- Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Pour in white wine, simmer for 3 minutes, then stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle boil.
- Add reserved pasta water, simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat, mix in Parmesan cheese, and toss cooked spaghetti in the sauce.
- Serve warm, garnished with extra Parmesan and red pepper flakes.
Notes
Using fresh garlic enhances the flavor significantly.
Stir the sauce consistently to prevent sticking.
For a thinner sauce, reserve more pasta water.
