- 1 ½ cups marinara or pizza sauce
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1 ½ cups cooked and crumbled Italian sausage or pepperoni slices
- 1 ½ cups sautéed vegetables (peppers, onions, mushrooms, or your favorites)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (to grease the skillet)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix marinara sauce, cooked sausage, sautéed vegetables, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
- Grease a 10-inch cast iron skillet with olive oil.
- Pour the filling into the skillet evenly.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and optional Parmesan on top.
- Roll out the pizza dough into a circle larger than the skillet.
- Cover the filling with the dough, tucking the edges down.
- Cut small slits in the top of the dough for steam vents.
- Brush the dough with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
- Cool for 5–10 minutes before serving.
