- 2 pounds ground beef (96% lean)
- 12 street taco-size flour tortillas
- 12 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cups Pico de Gallo
- 1 1/2 cups shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup ketchup
Instructions
- Shape ground beef into 6 thin hamburger patties.
- Preheat grill to 400ºF and cook patties to an internal temperature of at least 165ºF.
- While grilling, spray frying pan with cooking spray and toast tortillas for 2-3 minutes on each side.
- On a toasted tortilla, place a slice of cheddar cheese, stack a grilled burger, and another slice of cheese.
- Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and 3/4 cup Pico de Gallo for sauce, and spread over burger.
- Top with remaining Pico de Gallo and shredded lettuce, cover with another tortilla, then serve.
Notes
Choose lean beef for a healthier burger.
Don’t rush grilling to achieve juicy patties.
